About Me

me & v (4.5 months)
Hi, I'm Meagan.

I'm a nursing mom to a wild and curious little girl, a lactation enthusiast in pursuit of certification, and my friends call me the boob guru.  I planned on breastfeeding for one year.  Now I'm happily nursing a toddler who can do a handstand in my lap without losing her latch.  Motherhood totally unleashed my inner hippie.  My in-laws are horrified.

My nose is stuck in a breastfeeding book almost daily, I teach breastfeeding classes, attend breastfeeding groups, and soak up knowledge from the best lactation consultants around whenever I can.  Most importantly, I believe good lactation advice should be:

- genuinely kind/supportive *
- extremely accessible *
- more affordable *

Breastfeeding is REALLY important.  Nearly all women can breastfeed their babies successfully, and anyone who is telling you otherwise is probably a victim of formula company marketing or societal discomforts.  The U.S. spends nearly 3.5 billion dollars a year on artificial milk related health care costs, and trails the developed world in prioritizing breastfeeding education and support over the sale of formula.  Breastmilk is the most amazing, appropriate, magnificent food for your baby.  And the bonding experience is pure bliss whether your baby is exclusively or partially breastfed.  The support you need to solve your breastfeeding problems is out there.  I want to help you find it.

I worked hard to be a milky mama.
If you're reading this, likely you either are milky, want to be milky or are hoping to stay milky.
So milk me for what I know.
